I played around with the idea of Betty Bluebird in 2015 after being unable to find products that I was happy to use. I had a tattoo done, and did not want to heal it with petroleum jelly or nappy rash cream. Have mercy. So I started a company with about R500 - because that's all I had, on a mission to make something natural that I was happy to use. A consciously plant based and small batch range, that I could manage. Once thought of as a revolutionary concept, but now thankfully very commonplace. I started up using what I had, in a friends kitchen (it was much bigger than mine and he had a storeroom!).
I source ingredients from people I trust, to make products that I use. Expensive, potentially harmful additives and chemicals are not necessary to create an effective product. So I made what I wish existed. Going back to basics and mindfully creating, using my hands and heart to give birth to stuff that I could be proud of. Plastic free as far as possible. Handmade is more than a catch phrase, it's a conscious choice. Natural is more than the antithesis of unnatural, it's a means of creating long term healthy skin.
I care about your skin and what goes onto it. At Betty Bluebird we believe in plants, not chemicals. We are by appointment to you.
